The bride, with her father John Buckenham, as she walked from her home on Stanley Road in Wallington, to Stanley Park Evangelical Church last Friday
Calogero, 41, from Carshalton, said: ' The church is only four doors away so there was no point getting a car to drive Louise to the church - plus I wanted to make the walk a bit more special.'
' But I didn't want her to peek outside on the day and see the carpet from her window before she left the house.
' So I had it laid at the last minute just before she opened the door.'
Calogero, who stayed at a nearby hotel while his bride stayed at her house in Carshalton Beeches, recruited the help of the church's Reverend to buy the right carpet.
He said: ' I even took the Reverend to the carpet fitter a few weeks before the wedding to make sure we got the measurements right.'
The couple, who met five years ago and have been in a relationship for two years, have five children between them aged between 10 and 19.
Reverend Colin Voice, of Stanley Park Evangelical Church, said: 'The bride was genuinely surprised, she had absolutely no idea about the carpet. She couldn't believe her eyes.'
