Kanye West should be banned from award ceremonies. This is the only conclusion to be drawn from his display in New York overnight, when the annual VMAs took place at Radio City Music Hall. The rapper has previous in these situations. He stormed out of the 2004 AMAs when country star Gretchen Wilson beat him to Best New Artist and then at the 2005 MTV EMAs, he rushed the stage in protest at Justice and Simian's "We Are Your Friends" winning a gong ahead of his own "Touch The Sky".On Sunday evening, an emotional and clearly thrilled Taylor Swift stepped-up to accept Best Female Video prize for "You Belong To Me", which came out ahead of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" promo, amongst others. Sadly, Kanye decided, once again, that he knew better than everyone else and proceeded to emerge stage left, grab the mic from Swift and rant: "Taylor, I'm really happy for you, and I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time." The reaction from all concerned speaks for itself.Kanye has at least had the courtesy to apologise for his behaviour, with an online posting penned in his traditional, self-obsessed, caps lock frenzy. "I'M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD'VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!" Admitting that he was "IN THE WRONG", West added: "BEYONCE'S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!!
