A community celebrated the wedding of their church vicar on Saturday - to a former model 20 years his junior.
Rev’d Andrew Allington, 54, who has conducted over 100 weddings, was finally the groom as he married extreme sports fanatic Hazel Trudgen, 35, in a ceremony conducted by the biking Bishop of Doncaster, Rt Rev’d Cyril Ashton.
The couple’s unusual love story began when they met at a village fete just one year ago and the Reverend was so struck he proposed within weeks, calling it 'passion at first sight'
They may seem like an unlikely couple, but despite their different lifestyles these two believe they are a match made in heaven.
Vicar Andrew said: 'I waited a long time to meet the right person, but I’m so glad I have.
'Hazel is so much more than I could have ever expected or imagined - beautiful inside and out!'
While bride Hazel is usually found on a motorbike, on her wedding day she left her bike at home, opting for a more traditional entrance in a horse and carriage.
During their special day at St Mary’s Parish Church in Stainforth, South Yorkshire, the couple employed the help of local residents and businesses to help out with the organisation.
Around 400 friends, relations and parishoners attended the ceremony, that lasted just under an hour.
The blushing bride looked absolutely dazzling in a strapless, figure-hugging white dress while the groom wore traditional morning dress.
Hazel, who was given away by her father, was laughing and seemed full of the joys of life throughout the early afternoon wedding as did the crowd.
The award-winning local brewery, Brown Cow, supplied a real cask ale bar, while fine wine merchant John Atherfold - who is married to Cyril’s colleague Rev’d Eve Atherfold - picked out the plonk.
Guests toasted to the couple’s happiness in a marquee provided by the Thorne Rural Lions, with the soundtrack provided by the local Hatfield Brass Band and Doncaster Wheatsheaf singers.
And in return for their help, the whole community were invited to the ‘do’ in the grounds behind the church and local community centre
