Black wedding: How some brides are turning their backs on the traditional white dress

It is traditionally the preserve of chic cocktail parties... or indeed funerals.
But black is now the dress shade of choice for brides, it seems.
And those who do not dare go the whole way are simply adding touches of it, in the form of piping or long gloves.
Tailored outfits are more popular than meringue-shaped gowns as economical women want to be able to wear the dress again for nights out, according to research by industry experts.
'Black is a leading trend for the fashion-forward bride who wants to make a bold statement,' said a spokesman for bridal website WeddingPath.
'Black dresses embellished with lace and pearls are an attractive choice, but you can also consider black piping or embroidery over the classic white dress.'
